RK SFMS-320 Sleeve Gearless Servo Flexo Printing Machine

A flexo press earns its place on the floor by how quickly it moves from one job to the next, and by how steady it holds register once it is running. Gears and heavy steel cylinders work against both. Every repeat change means a new set of cylinders, and every gear train adds backlash that shows up as registration drift on thin film.

The RK SFMS-320 is built to remove those two limits. It is a sleeve based, gearless, servo flexo printing machine: eight motors drive each print unit, the print sleeves slide on and off in place of heavy cylinders, and a chilled impression drum keeps the web steady from the first metre. It runs self-adhesive labels, unsupported paper, BOPP, PE, PET shrink film, blister foil and pouch film on one 320 mm press, at up to 200 m/min, in 2 to 12 colours.

Each print unit has its own independent drive, so there is no shared gear train carrying small errors from one station to the next. The repeat is no longer tied to a gear, and the same units print any repeat from 228 to 600 mm. Automatic pre-register sets the stations into register before printing starts and automatic re-register corrects while it runs, so less material is wasted at the start of each job and the press recovers by itself if the web shifts.

The web runs over a single chilled impression drum. The short paper path keeps registration stable and the cooling keeps heat from stretching thin film, which is what lets one press hold register on a 12 micron film and on a 200 GSM paper. Impression setting is motorised, a 10 inch main HMI controls the line with a 7 inch HMI at each station, and the machine stores more than 200 job recipes so a repeat job is recalled in one step.

Reels up to 900 mm diameter are loaded and unloaded by an auto roll lifter. Drying is conventional UV, LED UV, IR or hot air to suit the inks. One to three die cutting stations, rail-mounted cold foil, lamination, delam-relam, a turn bar, sheeting, slitting and a rotary screen printing unit can be fitted on the line, so labels or film leave the press finished.
