The AHSI is an automatic inspection machine that checks printed and die-cut labels with a 2K or 4K camera and the E+L SMARTSCAN 200% system, then slits and rewinds the roll on the same pass. When it detects a defect it marks the exact position so the operator can repair it afterwards.
Slitting uses rotary and razor blades, up to six sets, and the rewind works both up and down. A 21.5-inch touchscreen runs the job, and the web can move in both directions for re-checking — delivering 100 percent quality assurance before labels reach the customer.
